Shaker Dynamic Pickup Mic
Harmonica Microphone

The Dynamic Shaker range give a Chicago Electric Blues sound.   It’s thick and hot and puts the thunder in your hand.    A sax player would call it a “Brown Sound”.   The Shaker Dynamic has fantastic feedback rejection. It’s ready to burn the house down when you are!     This shaker can be used wither in Hi Z or Low Z-58dB. All individually handmade.

AVAILABLE IN TWO OUTPUT OPTIONS:

XLR 3 pin output - Price  £88
1/4” jack output - Price £80

Shaker Crystal
Harmonica Microphone

A HI-Z microphone with more of an accurate sound and with less tonal colouration than the dynamic shaker mics.   A clean sound with that characteristic crystal attack.  When you need to cut through a thick rhythm section this mic has the “in your face” crystal edge to get you heard.   The mic has fantastic feedback rejection.   All individually handmade.

AVAILABLE IN TWO OUTPUT OPTIONS:

XLR 3 pin output - Price £88
1/4” jack output - Price £80

Madcat Shaker
Harmonica Microphone

The Shaker Madcat model doesn't look like any other microphone. It doesn't respond like any microphone ever produced; it is a totally new approach to harmonica amplification.
The design is radical, the shape is functionally perfect, the technology is typical Shaker, way ahead of the rest. The Shaker Madcat has a unique new design which enables you to amplify not only the sound of the harp, but all the hand shaped tones usually associated with acoustic harmonica playing.
With the Shaker Madcat you can, for the first time, mic the natural wah-wah sound of a harmonica from inside your cupped hands. This microphone picks up all of the sounds produced  within the variable acoustic chamber created by your cupped hands.
Every Shaker Madcat is totally handmade, each body is hand cast one at a time, so each is different in color and surface. Some smooth, some with pits, each unique. Every Shaker Madcat is assembled by Shakey Joe himself in the Shaker harp shop in Northern Arizona.

Complete with 1/4" jack output cable.

MadDog Shaker
Harmonica Microphone

A second generation Madcat microphone for those who love the ease of using the Madcat, but want a BIGGER bottom end.  What does it sound like?  We like to say "creamy" over all tone.  The tone is very "Butterfieldish".  Definitely unique.  Same ergonomic shape as the Madcat, but with a bigger bottom pod. Very technique sensitive due to its large diameter dynamic element.  This mic has a big bite!
Complete with 1/4" jack  output cable.

MADCAT & MADDOG Technical Information:
Hold Shaker either cat or dog in left hand between fingers, grill pointing at harp. Volume control above your knuckles, harmonica and microphone in  same hand. Cup hands around harp and play. Attach coupler to belt, hook microphone in one side, cord to amp in other side.

VOLUME CONTROL:
The first two thirds of turn is basically off, only the last one third of volume control is active. We designed it that way so that a slight roll of the finger can affect the volume.

AMP SETTING:
Every amp is different, so is every ear. It's up to you. A good place to start with most amps is the bass at 8, mids at 3, adjust to your personal taste and desired tone.
